Having the best food in the world doesn’t always mean a full restaurant or full order every day if no one knows just how good your food is.
Sometimes you need to do a little extra to attract more customers to your restaurant or page. Once they’re there and trying your food, they’ll keep coming back time and time again.

The easy part is making them fall in love with your food. However, we need to get those people in the door first in order for that to happen.

Here are a few fun and efficient ways to get more customers in your restaurant or on your page in order for you to build a loyal following through Instagram.

“They won't know who you are if you don't show them who you are and what you do.”

This won't be another fluffy piece you see on the internet. This might change the way you look at Instagram as a whole. These are proven strategies that work for any business looking to make sales on Instagram.

Buckle up and get ready. If implemented correctly it will make your sales go up by at least 20%.

1. Write an engaging bio

Most people think a bio on your Instagram isn't that important , so they just write anything and eventually mess this part up. Lucky for you we are going to fix that.

A bio is important because thats the first impression people have of you as a business or even an individual. It loads faster than any picture on Instagram and starts telling the viewer more about you.

Now here is how to structure your bio on Instagram

Step 1: The Elevator Pitch.

This is the very first line underneath your profile picture

It should contain the answers to the two important question people subconsciously ask when they stumble on a new page

"Who are you" and "How can You Help them"

So how do we fix that, SIMPLE:

Use the formula [Name + Keyword]. This is how it works:

Imagine I am graphics designer, its simple. What I need to insert on my elevator pitch is

[Mahmud | Graphic Designer]. And you are done

The moment someone comes into your page, they see who you are and what you do, if thats who they are looking for, you will have them hooked.

Step 2: Establish Authority.

What ever you are doing, don't lose them here. They know "who you are" and "what you do", now its time to tell them "Why they should care?" and the formula is simple really. All you have to do is tell them "How you can help them". Here is an idea for a restaurant or food vendor that serves baked goods.

"Satisfying your taste buds with baked food".

That's it. Simple as ABC.

Step 3: Entice them.

Give them something to do and no scroll first. Don't be cliché and type in "Click on this link". Are you commanding them? When was the last time you clicked on a link when you bumped into someone's profile? Can't remember yeah. Okay here is what you do

If you don't have a link say something like this "Send a dm and lets talk..."

If you have a link send them there knowing what they will get there to see. its that simple.

Step 4: Tell them where you are.

Show your location, that is very important. You wouldn't want someone who is not in your area adding to your numbers without value would you. This helps you fish out people who are in your area and ready to do business with you.

2. Use Hashtags

Underrated but effective. Looking for a place to eat has never been easier on Instagram. Using hashtags have proven to bring up your page to the right viewer more than anything. Instagram is uses an algorithm, they want people to stay on their platform as much as they can.

So here is what they do, when you post a picture or a video without a hashtag, they push it randomly to different people on the explore feed until someone likes it and if they don't its pushed down. But if you use hashtags on your picture or video, it will take it to the people who follow that hashtag and see how it performs. When the engagement goes up, your post gets light shining on it and thats how things go viral on Instagram. Its not luck just algorithm.

Now using hashtags is easy just use at least 5 to 6 and at most 12 relevant hashtags for a single post. We like to use:

  • 2 for location

  • 2 for service

  • 2 for product

Mixing these up will lead to higher engagement with your post.

3. Publish CUSTOMER Made Content

A Local Consumer Review Survey showed that 32% of customers pay attention to the presence of photos when judging a local business on reviews.

Since Instagram is a place for visual inspiration, restaurants need to publish fan-made content to prove that their company is worth visiting and build brand loyalty and trust.

After all, your customers are already generating this content! As many as 69% of people admit to taking photos of their food before eating it so why not use that to your advantage. Ask them to tag you and you can repost it on your own page. They will surely thank you or tell their friends about it. With that you get to do two thinks

  1. Grow organically

  2. Leave a healthy customer review on your page.

4. Have an organized Feed

The most important thing on any social media is to wow your audience or potential customers with your amazing and organized feed that shows your service, your product and reviews. They will be impressed but it won't be easy. This is where you will make or break the attention of the potential customer. Even if they are loyal, die hard fans of your establishment, they will be reluctant to show an unorganized feed to their friends.

For this I recommend hiring a professional food photographer to come someone who will come in and handle everything for you.

But here is how you can do it yourself. Have the pictures you really love 100% only on your feed, doesn't matter how many just make sure you love them.

Get the PREVIEW APP on your smartphone and start curating how you want your feed to look like. Again a professional will make this process a lot easier and with this alone it will boost your views and engagement rate up to 60% or more. Food always sells on Instagram.

5. use stories and highlights

Don't be the dull page that only has pictures and no engagement system. Nothing screams boring than a plain Instagram page. This is where stories come in. Have fun with this but there are strategies that have proven to work time and time again.

I will walk you through this one by one.

First thing you need to do is make sure people are noticing your page and getting their attention. Again it all comes down to the algorithm, once it sees that your stories are being boring to people they push you to the back of the line. Here is how you do it.

Attach engagement stickers to your stories and ask simple would you rather questions. Its as simple as that and once they expire, create a highlight for them where people who come can actually see the polls and engage with them also even after they have expired.

Then next thing you want to do with that attention is to tell them of an offer inform of a story, tell them what you offer in just three stories. Remember when they exit you go to the back of the line. MAKE IT EXCITING.

You can learn more about how we make our CLIENTS get 10X SALES:

Once you have them hooked, it's time to sell. Sell them on an idea not the whole thing. Sell them on the idea that by simply going to your dm or your page they can get the offer they were just presented with in the form of a story. You will be surprised to see how many people come in and start asking for the offer.

Conclusion

Today, local customers use Instagram to discover new restaurants and decide where to eat. For restaurants, this means an opportunity to attract local customers online, and the examples prove that Instagram marketing is a must for local restaurants of all sizes and shapes.
